really, Period 5?!

The first big battle  of the Civil War, Bull Run, was a little too close for comfort for grocer Wilmer McLean, who lived nearby. So he packed up and moved across state to Appomattox. And it was there , 4 years later, that General Lee surrendered to General Grant in   McLean's parlor, effectively ending the Civil War .
